Department of English Curriculum Planning

          The aim of this department is to cultivate students who, through active teaching methods, are able to both appreciate international literary masterpieces and utilize  foreign languages properly. By doing so, students will be well-trained with paying attention to the equal importance of literary theory and its practice so that students will easily find a job after graduation. According to the educational aims and curricular attributes of the department, the courses of the department can be classified as follows:

  1. Fundamental language training courses: English Pronunciation Drills, English Composition, English Conversation, English Translation, Advanced Writing, Japanese, and French, etc.
  2. Literary and cultural courses: Introduction to Western Literature, English Literature, American Literature, American Cultural Studies, English Poems and Plays, Prose, Novels, Critical Thinking, Shakespeare, etc.
  3. Practical courses: Media English, English for Journalism, English Pedagogy, Children English Teaching, International Trade, Secretarial Business, and Business English, etc.
